AW Lymn at New Ollerton arranged my dad’s funeral, I couldn’t praise Colum O’Shea and the staff enough, I submitted a separate positive review. I was so impressed with the service received I asked AW Lymn to also arrange the memorial. My main contact was Mary Haynes who provided a highly efficient and professional service, I was updated throughout the entire process. It didn’t run entirely smoothly due to the weather conditions there were many problems with movement to the ground which was beyond anyone’s control, Mary helped to resolve these problems. The gravediggers had to return three times, their work was terrible with no care given to the grave, it was very upsetting, however this was no reflection on AW Lymn who agreed it was unacceptable and asked them to return until it was satisfactory. An AW Lymn staff member attended the churchyard to assess and it was authorised for the memorial to be fixed as the ground had settled. Mary was kind, patient and efficient during what was a very difficult time, I was very grateful. I am happy with the memorial which was fixed by Jordon and Jack who were so kind and respectful during an emotional moment on seeing the headstone in place for the first time. I have been happy with the entire service provided by AW Lymn. Thank you.
Having had superb experiences when using Lymm's Funeral Services twice in the last few years, it was inevitable we would turn to them when we needed to have an additional inscription engraved onto an existing family headstone. Unfortunately, this experience could not have been more different, and took exactly twelve months to complete. The 1 star given is for the actual engraving, which we were very pleased with. My sister and I visited the Nottingham branch in the July to request the memorial work. Two phone calls and nearly six weeks later, we received the quote for approval. This was sent back to Lymm's by return so that "we can process your order and begin the work". We were told on the phone that it was hoped the completed headstone would be returned before Christmas. However, mid November, we received a further letter enclosing a proforma invoice "which requires paying in full before we can proceed with the Memorial work for you", and stating that they "anticipate it should be completed within two months". Payment was made in full immediately, and calls were made for a progress report almost monthly thereafter. We were eventually told that the completed memorial stone was being returned to the grave on 13th June. However, it wasn't until my sister did a 50 mile round trip to go and see it, that we discovered it hadn't been reinstalled, and Lymm's didn't know why when I phoned them. We were subsequently given two more dates when it should be installed, but it still didn't happen. Eventually, the stone was reinstalled mid July (a year to the date after we walked into the Nottingham office to make the initial request), although they forgot to reinsert the flower urn, even though it was clearly recorded on the job file. It was evident there is a major lack of communication between the office and the 'fixers' who install the memorials. The fixers do not tell the office if there is a problem of any description, which leaves the office staff in the embarrassing position of having to explain to the client why the job has not been completed as scheduled, often having no explanation to give. We did receive apologies from Lymm's and a complimentary new flower urn for the grave but, having been so very upset and disappointed with the poor service given, I felt the need to leave this review.
I needed my parents headstone restoring in December 2019. I turned to Lymns. They were quick and efficient with a good quotation for the repair etc. I asked them to go ahead and the work was done in a speedy & excellent manner and to the satisfaction of us all. They even finished the whole process with some flowers when fitted. I would recommend them to anyone requiring such a service. Thank you.
Our family have used Lymn on several occassions, can’t recommend them highly enough. They are professional, sympathetic, efficient - everything you need on such an occasion.
