Newcastle West Road Crematorium & Cemetery

4.5(83 reviews)·Newcastle upon Tyne

Newcastle West Road Crematorium & Cemetery holds a 4.5 rating from 83 Google reviews. Reviewers describe compassionate and professional staff, well-tended chapel areas, and a peaceful, dignified setting for services and visits. A recurring criticism, however, is that upkeep is inconsistent beyond the immediate chapel grounds, with several visitors noting overgrown or littered sections further into the cemetery, and one or two isolated complaints about vehicle access and gate timing.

Visit my Dad's grave regularly but it is like fighting a losing battle with the Mare's Tail throughout the place. You would think during "No mow May" they could spray some weedkiller on the place. Our Council could learn a lot from those in the West of Scotland who cemeteries are amazingly well kept.

Becoming very run down. I live locally cant even walk my dog as the grass verges have been destroyed by people parking. I've witnessed council vehicles and members of the public driving across peoples graves (the ones on the corners). Something needs to be done about it. Someone even put a wooden stake in to stop people and its been ripped out of the ground by somebody driving into it. If cars can't fit they should be stopped driving around 😒

Would be a lovely place to visit if it was litter picked more often. They take care of the areas where funerals take place but not the surrounding areas. The photos attached are at back corner near the allotments. There's litter in the garden of remembrance, the hedges are full of it. I've tried picking up some myself. Needs addressing in my opinion

A peaceful and well maintained cemetery and crematorium. The staff are compassionate and professional, making a difficult time a little easier. The grounds are tidy, with beautiful gardens offering a serene atmosphere. Some reviews mention occasional delays in services, but overall, it’s a respectful and well run facility. Would recommend for its caring environment.

Lovely crematorium only problem is the cars driving around . My father's grave has been damaged twice now. Need to ban cars driving around to the grave sites except for disabled and have staff on premises checking for those with disabled badges and turning away cars without them !!!!!

Absolutely disgusting.brother had travelled all the way from work to visit our dad's grave on his anniversary. Was 7 minutes late, the gate was not yet locked however just as about to enter the lady decided to lock the gate he explained he had been caught in traffic etc that he would only need 2 minutes to lay stuff on the grave, but no this horrible ignorant lady proceeded to lock the gate! Could have easily said ok youve got a few minutes but no ,Damn right rude...how people like her can sleep at night is beyond me!!!
