About the company

The crematorium building is Schedule B listed and contains two chapels. The Old Chapel seats 150, while the New Chapel, opened in 1954, seats up to 50 attendees.

For larger funerals, services in the Old Chapel can be broadcast to a video screen in the New Chapel, providing seating for up to 200 people. The crematorium offers webcast services and has advanced music and visual tribute systems. It also has a Garden of Remembrance and a Garden of Reflection. It provides cremation services.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Glasgow Crematorium, set within well-maintained grounds, is described by families as a place where professionalism is combined with genuine warmth during the most difficult of circumstances. The recurring theme across accounts is the helpfulness and courtesy extended by the team, whether on the telephone or in person, with several reviewers noting that this support reaches those conducting services as well as grieving relatives. The historic building itself is frequently mentioned as a fitting and beautiful setting for funeral services, and the surroundings are said to have been improved considerably.

Music plays a notable part in what families remember: one cremation was made more personal by the requested song being played at the close, while the willingness of organists to perform whatever is asked is praised. Reviewers also comment on the ease of access and parking, which accommodates all abilities, and on the care taken over the gardens. The professionalism shown on the day and the compassion evident throughout the building are points that come up often, leaving families with a sense of comfort at a time of loss.

Tour on the Glasgow open doors event, very knowledgeable Cremation technician showed us around. Lots of interesting history about the building and the cremation operation. Clever how they have adapted things to comply with the building listed status but still have a modern crematorium.

Due to the unexpected death of my brother, his wishes were that he be cremated and we used Glasgow Crematorium. I'm really pleased with everything that the staff provided. I asked for a song to be played, and I was absolutely delighted when the song was played at the end.
