What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Grounds that are consistently described as peaceful, tidy and well cared for are what visitors to Scholemoor Cemetery and Crematorium remember most. The mature trees, the quiet atmosphere and the abundance of flowers are points that come up often, shaping how people experience a visit. Separate burial areas for different faiths are repeatedly praised as a thoughtful arrangement serving a diverse community. The chapel is small, and a larger waiting area with television screens showing the service is mentioned as a practical answer when attendance exceeds seating.

Accessibility features regularly in accounts, with easy parking and level access for people with disabilities appreciated, and the same ease of arrival noted by those attending a funeral. Families tending graves are recalled with admiration, one visitor describing the sight of a man carefully cleaning a loved one's resting place. Cremation services at the site are spoken of with warmth, including the tranquillity of the Jewish section during a ceremony. The mixture of care, calm and inclusiveness shapes how the cemetery is remembered.

Scholemoor Cemetery is a very large and peaceful cemetery in Bradford. The grounds are well spread out, with plenty of space and a quiet atmosphere. It is also an important place for the local Muslim community, as there is a dedicated Muslim burial area and many Muslim families use the cemetery. The surroundings are generally calm and respectful, which makes it a suitable place for people to visit and pay their respects. It is a large cemetery, so finding the right section can take some time, but overall it is a well-known and important cemetery for the local community.

They need a designated caretaker as the vast majority of graves are submerged in overgrown grass and grave structures are looking rundown. Biggest con is the lack of watering stations as there is only 1 which is outrageous considering how large this cemetery is!! resulting in unnecessary queue build ups.

Was easy parking for the car that smashed into a tree. That innocent people perished

I walk past this cemetery quite often. Always admire the look of the place. Cemeteries are never a place I like to visit, but this one was something worth looking at. It looks peaceful. I guess for a cemetery, that's a good thing. Often very busy, and some would say clustered, but still very pleasant. Today, I walked by and saw a man cleaning a grave. I assumed it was a loved ones resting place. Admirable. Can u imagine if everyone who has a loved one there did the same thing?
