Couldn’t be happier with the headstone George provided. It turned out even better than expected and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Thank you, it really is beautiful.

Would not recommend Rooney's , Ordered headstone for my late partner, told to send photograph via WhatsApp , did later that day. Week later they still hadnt viewed it , phoned mobile number on card, no answer , left a message. Week later again still no reply. Phoned today ,spoke to Alec, twice he went to check , had to ask mine and partner name again. Comes back saying something about did I have a different photo So obviously hed then went to check the photo on WhatsApp. I've cancelled the order, for one, don't think they'd even had a clue about the order. and very unprofessional. I'm so angry.

Excellent service from mr Rooney, done a wonderful job on my parents stone, really appreciate it.

No stars! I visited st convals cemetery today 03/12/25 to find my parents headstone still lying prostate. It was the same on 06/11/25 when i visited, and has been like that at least since 02/09/25. Please see previous review... Please see the attached photos from 02/09/25 - 06/11/25 and today and compare the deterioration. When I spoke to George in early September he said he would put the headstone in the shed for safe keeping and clean it up and re-do the lettering etc...and he quoted me saying he remembered how upset I was finding the toppled headstone. George said it would be end of November before the repair work was completed. However this clearly hasnt happened and there has been no communication since I last spoke to him in September. I am very dissapointed and upset knowing my parents headstone is still lying neglected in st convals cemetery Please note the photos would not attach to this review. Below is review from September 2025. I visited St Convals cemetery on 02/09/25 to find my parents headstone toppled, and i was upset at the thought of potential vandalism. I went to speak to someone at George Rooney memorials but there was no one there. I took the mobile number from one of his vans and phoned when i got home and left a message. I also phoned the next day and left another message explaining the above situation, no one got back to me. On the 10/09/25 I phoned one of the office landline numbers and got through to George. I told him i had left messages on his mobile number the previous week. I went on to explain finding my parents headstone lying flat on the ground, and how upsetting it was. George asked me to send him the photo i had taken previously and said he would assess the situation and get back to me with an estimate for repairs and suggested a 'small cost'. On 22/09/25: I sent George a message on wattsap asking for an update, he didnt reply. On 29/09/25: I phoned his mobile and two office numbers and left messages to contact me, he didnt reply. On 30/09/25:  I phoned the landline numbers again and there was no answer. On 02/10/25: I went to st convals cemetery and found my parents headstone still lying prostate on the ground. I then went to the cemetery office and spoke to George and told him I had left him several messages... George told me he had not got round to sorting my parents headstone yet and went on to say it would probably be the end of November before it would be restored. I told George he could have kept me informed by replying to my messages and because he knew I was upset about the stone lying on the ground. I also enquired about the potential cost and he reiterated there would be a small cost in the region of £450 - £650. Unfortunately I responded by letting out an expletive (ffs) and said i thought it would just be a matter of re- positioning the stone with cement. To me that sum of money is not 'small'. At the end of the day, i feel let down by George for his lack of communication leading to feelings of being ignored. Hopefully George will take this on board in future so as not to lose out on potential customers. I also recognise that most of the reviews highlight communication with George as a strong point, however on this occasion it is anything but.  Thanks.

I would highly recommend George Rooney Memorials. My parent’s gravestone needed re-drilled, re-pinned, cleaned and re-gilded. The foundation was also replaced. The gravestone is over 40 years old and looks like new. I am absolutely delighted with the workmanship and kindness shown by George.

We would definitely recommend George Rooney Memorials. George was very professional and understanding and his work is of a very high standard. Prices were very reasonable too. We were extremely happy with the work George completed.
