They smashed my mother's Urn, ok accidents happen, but I was told to apply for a reimbursement. And the woman who answers the phone is one of the rudest people I have even spoken to. Belittling and patronising. Nearly two years later, multiple calls, emails and letters and still no reimbursement.

I am a humanist celebrant, normally working in the Gloucs area. I was invited to carry out a funeral for a Nottingham family at Wilford Hill crem recently. As I was not familiar with the venue, I dropped a line to ask if I could visit and Emma provided that very thing. She walked me through the facility and how it all operated. She was patient and kind, letting me take photos to allow me to keep the space in mind when I was writing the ceremony. For the ceremony itself, she welcomed me in and introduced me to Colin who managed the backstage stuff whilst I did the ceremony. Colin was brilliant, again taking time with me to make sure the music and the venue were all in order (such as removing the crucifix, as my ceremony was secular). It makes my job so much easier when the crem staff are so professional and adept at what they do. The venue itself has wonderful views over the city, it is definitely a place of transcendence and peace. Working with families at times like this can be difficult, but Emma and her team were brilliant and the venue is a great location. Thank you all.

As a civil funeral celebrant I carried out my first burial at Wilford Hill today. Just wanted to say how amazing and helpful the ground staff were both with me and the attendees. Craig and team thank you make days like today so much easier

As a celebrant, I have led many funerals at Wilford Hill Crematorium, and burials and interments in the cemetery. There are two chapels, Main and West Chapels, with services in the Main Chapel taking place on the hour, and in the West Chapel on the half hour. It's a traditional, old, church-like, building, but it is warm and bright inside. The Main Chapel has large gates in front of the catafalque that can be closed at the point of committal, if desired, and in the same way the West Chapel has a curtain that can be closed. The crematorium is technically and logistically very well managed, despite the limitations that a site of this age brings (access and parking can be tricky for large services - consider using the car park out front on Loughborough Road instead) and the team there are wonderful. Very friendly, thoughtful and respectful towards the families attending services. Always open to conversations about special requests for layout etc. The cemetery is huge - much bigger than people realise! There are some lovely paths for quiet contemplation behind the chapels, towards the woodlands. And the views from the top of the hill over the city are some of my favourite.

Very helpful staff. We called at the office area and Emma was very helpful in aiding our search for a grave. With further help from two gardeners we found the grave. Thank you so much.
