What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

The Manchester Crematorium receives consistent appreciation from families, celebrants and funeral directors who have dealings with the site. Visitors describe the grounds and building as beautiful and peaceful, with the memorial park kept tidy and well maintained, and mention returning regularly to remember loved ones in a calm setting. Staff are repeatedly called welcoming, helpful and compassionate, with Jane, Andrew, Amanda and Niall named for their friendliness, depth of knowledge and readiness to assist.

A theme running through the feedback is that no request seems too much trouble, and celebrants and funeral directors who use the crematorium professionally note the professionalism and steady support given to families, with team members making extra efforts so that services proceed without difficulty. Communication attracts frequent comment, particularly the information offered through tours and social media updates that help celebrants and members of the public understand more about the building and gardens. I visited the Crematorium to thank the team for their support of our charity, the Children's Adventure Farm Trust. Their donations have helped us to provide opportunities for children from our region, and we're so grateful for their time, energy and kindness. Niall invited me over to the Crem for a chat and tour, and I was so impressed with the facilities and team. It was clear that all staff, from the reception team through to the grounds keepers and crematorium staff take a great deal of care, and have a lot of pride in their jobs. It was humbling to see the respect shown to the families and those who have passed on, and it felt really reassuring to get a 'behind the scenes' tour, which I believe is available to all. This really is a fantastic, compassionate organisation in all ways.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team and gardeners here. Visited my dear Nan in the memorial gardens this evening, it was so beautifully kept and peaceful. It’s a true credit to you all and brought a smile to my face. The team here went above and beyond when we laid her to rest. And found where my grandad and relieves were scattered so we could place her with them. They also helped with the plaque which is just what we wanted, and allowed us to write the message of our choice. Her favourite flowers were yellow roses, the original rose bush we purchased last year sadly died, the crem team arranged a new bush to replace it a few months ago and it’s been so touching to see the new bush has yellow rose buds on.

We regularly use Manchester Crematorium as part of our service as funeral directors, and we cannot speak highly enough of the team there. The staff are always incredibly professional, compassionate, and supportive, which makes a huge difference. The grounds are beautifully maintained and provide a peaceful, respectful setting for families to remember their loved ones. The team truly go out of their way to help wherever they can, ensuring every service runs smoothly and with dignity. Their attention to detail, kindness, and willingness to assist never goes unnoticed. It is always a pleasure working with such a dedicated and caring team. The addition of the coffee machine is also a lovely bonus 😊 ☕️ Thank you to everyone at Manchester Crematorium for the excellent work you do.

We were there today for the funeral of a beloved family member. Some of the staff need retraining in how to treat and speak to bereft and grieving family members. We tried getting into the car park, there was a chap on the gate with a grey streak in his hair screaming at us that the car park was full from across the road and yet we could clearly see empty spaces, which were still empty when we walked into the car park. My sister-in-law has a blue badge for parking due to her disability, they showed it at the gate and the same gut basically told them where to go because a blue badge doesn’t mean anything. We were then standing outside after our loved one arrived and were greeting others who came to celebrate Poly’s life and again the same champ and a woman started shouting “show some respect”, and they didn’t just say it once. It was absolutely appalling. The staff haven’t a clue and I don’t think they ever heard of empathy. I would give a 0 star review if I could.
