I can’t fault the service provided before and on the day by Lovegroves in Caversham. However, this feedback is for the terrible service I’ve had since. Despite numerous phone calls, my parents headstone has been left abandoned in Whitehill Cemetery. Our plan included the safe removal, storage then replacement of the headstone. 6 months on its still lying on the ground next to other graves. I not only find this disrespectful, but feel for other families who want to visit their loved ones and my mums friends who want pay their respects to see this lack of respect. I’ve now complained directly to Dignity but felt the need to leave this feedback as well. The one star was only given as it would not allow me to post this comment without adding.

Visited the Caversham office on Tuesday afternoon of 17th March 2026 with my Mum to enquire about a replacement framed photograph on my Dad's headstone which had just fallen off his headstone after many years. We had the broken frame with us and were both rather distressed given the circumstances. Met in the office on Briants Avenue by a young lady with multicoloured hair and tattoos. She informed us she was covering the office and such a service was dealt with externally by their Masonry team and she was unable to help then and there. I wrote down all my my contact information (name, number, email address) and even left a trace outline of the broken frame and we were assured we would receive a call from her manager the following day to discuss further. Nearly a month later, I'm still waiting for that call. While I appreciate this is only a small matter - that we never received a call to even acknowledge that they could or couldn't help is really disappointing. Moreso, as a local lifelong resident of Caversham, I'll never use Cyril H Lovegrove services as a result.

Tony communicated well, setting out different options for my mum's funeral clearly, at a time when it is quite difficult to take everything in. The firm were accommodating, for example changing the design of the Order of Service at our request. I appreciated the call the day before mum's funeral, introducing the team for the day, running through the order of events and answering any questions. The team were very professional and supportive on the day. Thank you.

Terrible experience from start to finish - breathtakingly unprofessional. The fact that my dad had a pre-paid funeral plan meant that we had to deal with Cyril Lovegrove otherwise I would have not continued to use them.
