Funeral directors · Edinburgh

How much does Funeral directors cost in Edinburgh? (2026 price guide)

A simple, unattended cremation typically costs £1,500-£2,500, while a traditional attended funeral with a hearse, coffin and cremation usually runs £3,500-£5,000, and a burial funeral including plot fees often costs £5,000-£8,000 or more. Additional services like limousines, catering or floral tributes are usually charged separately.

Costs vary depending on the type of send-off chosen, coffin quality, the number of cars and staff required, cemetery or crematorium fees (which differ significantly by provider), and whether a religious or bespoke ceremony is wanted. Fees also tend to rise with more notice required for weekend or short-notice bookings.

Asking for an itemised price list upfront, and comparing at least two funeral directors, helps families avoid unexpected add-on costs during an already difficult time.
