I was absolutely astonished by the lack of empathy. There was very little organisation, up until a point where I was chasing them for information and pretty much doing their job! When you’re grieving someone, you need someone reliable, responsive and compassionate - this is not the company. The evening before my dad’s funeral, the lady rang and demanded money otherwise they wouldn’t release his body. We had no problems paying, we had already paid half, they did not make clear when they needed the next payment. They also added on extra charges after the funeral which weren’t clear to us, anything to make more money from vulnerable people. During the actual funeral, there was no support given, just transportation of our dad, absolutely nothing else, again I was doing their job. To top it off, they put my dad’s flower outside our neighbours house instead of ours and then when asked to move them, they placed them next to a bin, disgusting behaviour. Please don’t put your loved ones in the hands of such awful people. Spend an extra 5 mins and find someone else.

Asian Funeral Directors in Handsworth offered a very smooth graceful service and nothing was too much effort, Sue was wonderful, very helpful and it was a please dealing with her during this difficult time.

We would like to thank Sue and the team at the Handsworth branch for the care, compassion, and professionalism shown during our mother’s funeral. As a Asian family, it was very important to us that the cultural and religious aspects of the funeral were understood and respected, and Sue handled everything with warmth, dignity, and genuine sensitivity throughout. During such a difficult time, her calm and supportive approach made a huge difference to our family. Everything was organised smoothly and respectfully, allowing us to give our mum the send-off she deserved. We are truly grateful and would highly recommend them.

Shambles! Such money grabbing place. My dad died, we was so emotional and not thinking but these guys ripped us off badly. Once all booked they just wanted more and more money. Even at the crematorium just rushing us on everything like there is no tomorrow, we all drained and sad but these guys just pushing us and told no notice it was finishing early. Guys avoid!!! Really disappointed with this funeral director they provided a very poor service

The service provided by the team from Asian Funeral Directors was carried out with grace, and we truly appreciated how well the team looked after our family during such a difficult time. Their support and professionalism in many aspects were comforting and reassuring. However, as a Gujarati family, we were deeply disappointed with the dressing of our beloved mum. The traditional saree was draped incorrectly, and the hospital tag was still left on her wrist. This attention to detail is something we expected to be handled with more care and understanding, especially given the cultural importance of these rituals. Additionally, the lady assisting us was quite abrupt and came across as rude, which added to our distress. We felt that more compassion and sensitivity should have been shown in such a delicate situation. Overall, while some parts of the service were handled well, the dressing and manner of communication were far below the standard we had hoped for.
