Desmond Maguire Limited was formed on 25th January 2006 and began trading in July of that year. The company is solely owned and operated by Des Maguire and his wife Margaret Maguire. Des Maguire entered the funeral industry at age 15, washing funeral cars and assisting in different aspects of funeral service. In 1990, he joined the same funeral company as a full-time member of staff. The company is a member of The Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (S.A.I.F).
Its motto is 'Giving the best to the end'. It serves families in Glasgow. Services include traditional funerals, simple funerals, eco funerals, repatriation, and headstones and memorials. All staff are fully trained in all aspects of funeral service. A hearse or hearsette is used to bring the deceased into the company's care. The company's limousines and hearses are coach-built by Duffy Coachbodies.

What a wonderful, caring and beautiful funeral provided by Des and his staff. Our every wish was attended to and thought put into every detail.
I would like to thank the team at Desmond McGuires especially James who helped me arrange my mother in laws funeral recently. This was made more complicated as I live in Dubai and I had no idea where to start. James was fantastic , ever so helpful and guided me through everything that was required and was always quick to respond to me at any time of the day or night. On the day of the funeral Desmond and his team was there to help keep us right on all protocols etc and it’s was lovely service and very professional. Desmond and his team went beyond my expectations.They made what was a heart breaking event, seamlesss and also given the current situation with restrictions they were still able to ensure that our mum's wishes were honoured. My mum passed away suddenly and the staff here looked after her within an hour or so of my calling. She was taken from her house in a coffin which was a very dignified way to make her final exit. Desmond personally attended. The care from Audrey and the sensitivity coupled with the professional dignity we received was exceptional. Can’t recommend or thank them enough
